Scott Ritter Interview on the Impending War With Iran (Metro Times / Detroit)

Bush Drops Standard on Iran as Credibility Questioned (Bloomberg/Yahoo)

First, they said had nuclear weapons and would bomb Israel and the U.S., then Iran just had a nuclear weapons program and may produce a bomb (or energy) in 5-10 years.  Now, just knowing how to make a bomb is dangerous.  Watch out, chemistry students!  (Never mind that dozens of nations have nuclear technology, or that U.S. companies sold Iran nuclear technology through 2007…. Shhhh!)

The Iran NIE: False Meme (MParent)

If you repeat something long enough, it mimics fact.  Repeating the claims of the NIE, that “Iran halted its’ nuclear weapons program in 2003”, implies confirmation that they had a nuclear weapons program in 2003, which is not established fact.  They have openly discussed their nuclear energy technology programs and allowed inspections.

Iran Completely Stops Selling Oil in U.S. Dollars (AFP/Google)

EXCERPT: “Iran, the world’s fourth largest oil exporter, has completely stopped selling its oil in U.S. dollars… “The dollar is an unreliable currency in regards to its devaluation and the loss oil exporters have endured from this trend”.

Gates Addresses Gulf Nations on Iran (NYTimes)

EXCERPT: “Gates ended his speech with a grim warning against underestimating the United States. Some countries, he said, ”may believe our resolve has been corroded by the challenges we face at home and abroad. This would be a grave misconception.” Nazi Germany, imperial Japan, Fascist Italy and the former Soviet Union all made that miscalculation, Gates said. “All paid the price. All are on the ash heap of history.”Sounds a lot like the ‘wiped off the map’ comment falsely attributed to Ahmadinejad. (Guardian, Information Clearinghouse)

IAEA – Iran talks resume (Reuters/Yahoo)

EXCERPT: “The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) delegation arrived in Iran’s capital on Sunday, less than a week after a U.S. intelligence report said Iran halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003.  Iran denies ever having had such a military program but welcomed the report that contradicted the U.S. administration’s assertions that Tehran was actively working on a nuclear bomb.”
